Cut from old house timber. Nail holes left in.

Thai teak houses are dismantled and the timber resold — this is a board cut from a beam that spent seventy years holding up a roof in Ayutthaya.

The nail holes and the colour variation are the provenance. Oil it every couple of months and it will outlast the kitchen it lives in.
