Mudmee is Thai ikat: the yarn is tied and dyed before it goes on the loom, so the pattern arrives slightly out of register. The softness at the pattern edge is how you tell it from a print.
Woven in Baan Krua, the old Cham weaving community on the khlong in central Bangkok — the same neighbourhood Jim Thompson first bought from.
